Do you receive regular IVIg?

Posted on Monday, October 14 2024

The MAA asks – “Do you receive regular IVIg?” If so, this consumer engagement opportunity may be important to you.

Please consider if you would like to have your say on the following scenario. Participants need to register prior to Monday October 21st to ensure a place.

The online engagement exercise will comprise some individual reflection on an online platform and two online live online workshops, the idea is for participants to attend both workshops and complete/work through some individual questions and surveys throughout the duration of the engagement exercise.

Seeking expressions of interest from those with lived experience of a condition requiring IvIg or ScIg treatment

HealthConsult are currently engaged by the National Blood Authority (NBA) to develop a framework that will guide decision making in relation to the supply of immunoglobulin (Ig) to patients in circumstances where there may be a significant interruption to supply.

As part of this work, they are seeking the involvement of healthcare consumers, community members, carers, and those with lived experience of a condition requiring IvIg or ScIg treatment to participate in an upcoming online engagement exercise.

This will comprise some individual reflection on an online platform and two online live workshops, facilitated by academic researchers from Sydney Health Ethics (The University of Sydney). Findings will help ensure that Ig is distributed in a fair and ethical manner during times of short supply.
