Throughout June, the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Queensland (MGAQ) is turning awareness into action. MGAQ are bringing Queensland communities together to support people living with this rare, autoimmune neuromuscular condition.
Explore two major June initiatives Walk for Myasthenia Gravis Awareness and Shine a Light on Myasthenia Gravis. Become involved in starting the conversation and spreading the awareness in your local community.

Throughout June, communities across Queensland are encouraged to step forward and support people living with Myasthenia Gravis through the Walk for Myasthenia Gravis Awareness initiative.
Whether walking individually, with friends, family, or as part of a local community group, every step helps raise awareness, encourage understanding, and support those affected by this rare autoimmune neuromuscular condition.
MGAQ invites Queenslanders to come together, start conversations, and help shine a spotlight on Myasthenia Gravis throughout Awareness Month.

In June each year, the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Queensland (MGAQ) presents its 'Queensland Lights Up' initiative. The theme for 2026 is 'Shine a Light on Myasthenia Gravis.' With the support of local councils and private organisations, MGAQ will raise awareness and spark conversation in local communities across Queensland by lighting up buildings and landmarks in the colour teal. *Disclaimer: Dates are subject to change

Throughout June, MGAQ will further expand awareness across Queensland through additional community visibility initiatives, including Story Bridge banner placements and regional billboard advertising.
From 1–14 June, a Myasthenia Gravis Awareness banner will feature on the inbound Story Bridge in Brisbane, helping bring visibility to thousands of daily commuters each day.
MGAQ awareness billboards are also permanently displayed at two locations along the Bruce Highway:
- 6.4km south of Childers
- 15km north of Rockhampton (1km south of The Caves)
These initiatives are designed to encourage conversation, increase public awareness, and help more Queenslanders recognise and understand Myasthenia Gravis.

There are many ways Queenslanders can help raise awareness and support people living with Myasthenia Gravis throughout June.
You can get involved by:
